Gobi Manchurian

Gobi manchurian is a great side dish with fried rice or noodles or it can be had as a starter or as a snack. It is a very delicious dish which can be made from with ingredients available at your home. Read more on how to make Gobi Manchurian.

Ingredients for Gobi Manchurian:

  • 1 med Gobi(cauliflower)
  • 1 cup sliced capsicum
  • 1/2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 4-5 finely chopped garlic cloves
  • 1 inch ginger finely chopped
  • 3 finely chopped green chilies
  • 2 tbsp rice flour
  • 3-4 tbsp corn flour
  • 4-5 tbsp maida(all purpose flour)
  • 3-4 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • salt to taste
  • 3 tsp red chili powder
  • Oil to fry
  • Finely chopped coriander for garnish

Procedure:

  1. Add Gobi in boiling salt water and allow it to cook for a while.
  2. Mix rice flour, corn flour, maida(all purpose flour), salt, red chili powder and ginger garlic paste, then add water little by little making it a thick paste, finally add the cauliflower florets/gobi into the paste and mix it well and finally deep fry the batter coated florets.
  3. Add 3 tbsp oil into a pan on low flame, add sliced onions, chopped garlic, chopped green chilies, chopped ginger, salt to taste and 2 tsp red chili powder into the pan and saute for a while.
  4. Add the fried gobi/cauliflower into the pan and mix it all, then add ketchup and soy sauce into the pan and mix it into the gobi/cauliflower, heat this for a while.
  5. Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves and serve.
