Ingredients for Dough:
- 250 gms all purpose flour/maida
- 100 ml warm milk
- 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
- Salt to taste
Ingredients for Garlic Butter:
- 50 gms salted/unsalted butter
- 5-6 garlic pods minced
- 1 tbsp oregano
- 1 tbsp red chili flakes
- Chopped coriander leaves
- Salt to taste if using unsalted butter
Ingredients for Stuffing (you can add anything):
- 200 gms shredded mozzarella (don’t buy pre-shredded)
- 100 gms capsicum (all the available colours)
- 150 gms sweet corn
Method for Dough:
- Mix yeast, warm milk and sugar in a cup and keep it aside for 5 mins
- Mix flour and salt, then add milk mixture and knead it into a soft dough. Kneading is important, knead for 10 mins.
- Cover it and keep it aside until it doubles in size. Keeping in the fridge slows down the process, keep it in a warm place or inside the oven with lights on.
Method for Garlic butter:
- Melt the butter and mix the minced garlic,chopped coriander, oregano and chili flakes, if you are using unsalted butter add salt to taste.
Making the Garlic Bread Sticks:
- After the dough has doubled in size, knead the dough for 5 mins and divide it into 2 parts.
- Roll the dough thin into an ellipse sheet and rub the garlic butter onto the rolled dough.
- Add plenty of cheese on one half of the rolled sheet top the cheese with chopped capsicum and corn.
- After adding the stuffing close the dough with the other half of the rolled sheet and seal it tight.
- Brush the bread with garlic butter on top. You can slit the top before baking or cut it into sticks later
- Preheat the oven at 230c for 20 mins.
- Place the bread in a tray on a low rack and bake it for 15-20 mins at 230c or until it browns.
- Cut it into sticks and serve it with mayo or pizza sauce.
